Block 37 Rebuilding

Following the fire in Block 37 intense activity has been going on the rebuild the homes in that community. The government did some work to level out the land and then allocated plots to those who used to live there. This redistribution of the land has meant that most people now have a larger area to live in than before. Also the government have decreed that when the new homes are built they have the following: a concrete floor, a toilet and that the construction is primarily of materials that are not flammable (not much wood). This has added to the expense of rebuilding, but it means that the homes are more durable, less likely to be burnt down in another fire and have some form of sanitation, all good things to come out of a dreadful situation. Here are the latest pictures of the rebuilding:

Thank you to all who have supported Hands of Mercy in our efforts to help those affected by the fire.
